NOTE: Our NEW Camera ID & Appraisal Board not only allows you to send messages but you can also attach a digital photo of a camera you may want an appraisal on but are unsure of the model or manufacture's name.
Sending us a digital photo works basically the same way you would add an 'attachment' to an email. This is not a 'link' to your image file on your ISP's server but you are actually sending us a copy of your image file. If you don't understand the whole digital image process then you probably won't undestand how this works or get much out of this simple step by step tutorial.

CREATE A DIGITAL PHOTO OF YOUR CAMERA

Here is how it works. . .

Method 1 - Requirements: Digital camera, computer + experience on downloading images from your digital camera to your computer. Begin by taking a digital photo of the camera you want identified and/or appraised. Download your photo from your digital camera to your computer and save that 'photo' as a .jpg or .gif file on your computer's 'A' or 'C' drive. You should also scale the photo down to a reasonable pixel size by reducing it down in a Image Program like Photo Shop, etc.

Method No. 2 - Don't have digital camera? Start by searching the internet for a photo of a camera that either matches or is similar to your camera. Then to capture a copy of that 'photo' from the internet by 'right clicking' your mouse on that photo, Next a 'Save Pictue' pop-up window will automatically appear. Select the 'save picture as' command in the pop-up window. Give this 'photo' a 'name' and a file extension (.jpg OR .gif.) such as 'My Camera Photo.jpg'. Be sure the file extension is either .jpg OR .gif.

SENDING A DIGITAL PHOTO

Now you are ready to send us your camera photo. Go to our Camera Identification or Appraisal Board & click on the 'New Topic' link (see NEW TOPIC form below). Enter your User Name, Password, and brief Camera Description. To send us a photo of your camera click the 'MANAGE ATTACHMENTS' link at the bottom left hand side of the 'New Topic' FORM. Then click the 'Browse' button in the pop-up window to locate the file where you placed your 'My Camera Photo.jpg' file. Next select "My Camera Photo.jpg", click the 'Upload' button and finish by clicking the 'Post Message' button.
